- 3. You will be emailed an invoice. In most cases payment must be received and then we can start the manufacture
The steps in greater detail if needed:
Q: How should I burn and test the master audio CD to be sent for manufacture?
The CD should be written as CD-Audio onto a good quality blank CD-R at a low writing speed (less than 24x, usually lower the better) in DAO (disc-at-once) mode with NO multisession enabled. This mode is most likely the default in your burning software.
Please listen carefully to the master disc to ensure there are no writing errors resulting in problems like clicks or pops. Good quality media and burners should prevent any errors occurring, but you can't verify a CD-Audio disc like a CD-ROM or hard drive.
We will make exact copies of your master so please ensure that the master is free of any errors or defects
Q: How should I burn and test the master video DVD to be sent for manufacture?
The DVD should be written as a DVD-Video disc onto a good quality DVD-R or DVD+R blank disc. Please physically verify your master within your burning software or by reading it back onto your computer after been written. We also recommend confirming it plays on a standalone DVD player.
Q: How should I design my artwork to meet the specifications necessary?
The basic requirements for CD and DVD designs are:
- Our artwork templates must have been used or referenced.
- All files to be in CMYK, minimum resolution 300dpi for paper parts, 600dpi for on-disc designs.
- 3mm of bleed required around outside of all paper parts and no text within 3mm of cut or folds on paper parts.
- Type: All fonts should be embedded or converted to outlines
For more details on artwork preparation, please see the Artwork Guide.
Q: For mastering what file format should I save my final mixdowns from my computer in?
The best possible format to supply the audio for mastering is:
32 Bit Floating Point / Sample Rate Project Was Recorded In / WAV format
If you are exporting from a DAW, then this should be easy to do. Here is a highlighted example in Cubase 4 Studio:

If this is not possible, then standard 16 or 24 bit / 44.1kHz is fine.
It is always best to export in the sample rate the project was recorded in. Upsampling as well as downsampling can cause major problems.
If you are sending via FTP then you might consider converting the files to FLAC lossless compression to save time uploading.
Q: How should I send the music/video/data?
Sending via FTP
Full instructions on using the FTP system can be found on the FTP Upload page.
You can send the following types of files over FTP:
- Audio as individual WAV/AIFF/FLAC files for mastering.
- All artwork.
- CD-ROM images as ISO files.
- Small DVD-Video images (under 2 GB) as ISO files.
We recommend using ISO files generated by ImgBurn. It is available free to anyone with access to a PC, and we use it ourselves to make sure of file compatibility. It is very simple to use.
- 1. Burn your master CD-Rom or DVD-Video disc in whatever software you like.
- 2. Put your master disc back in your drive.
- 3. Run ImgBurn and click 'create image file from disc' then select where to save the file.
Sending via disc in the post
- 1. Clearly label the master disc and add a note with your contact and order details.
- 2. Put the master disc into a CD case or something similar to protect it.
- 3. Put it in a good quality padded jiffy bag and send (royal mail special delivery recommended) to the following address:
- Digital Media Duplication,
PO Box 125,
Brighton,
BN2 3XR.
- Digital Media Duplication,
Q: Must I pay in advance of manufacture, or can I pay via invoice?
In most cases payment is required before manufacture can commence.
Government, educational establishments and regular business clients can pay via a 21 day invoice approved in advance.
Q: How do I make a payment?
- Direct Bank Transfer - (internet banking/phone banking)
- Paypal - (direct payment link on our PDF invoice)
- Cash - (payed in person in advance)
If you have a bank account, making a direct bank transfer is easy. If you don't have internet banking you can ring your bank and do it over the phone or pop into your local branch.
The best method is via Faster Payments, which is usually free and clears in near real-time. To confirm your bank offers Faster Payments and to check any transaction limit:
Which banks can send Faster Payments and what is my bank's value limitOur bank details will be on your invoice to enable you to make payment easily.
Max Sum = £250 + 3.4% Transaction Fee. Paypal charge us fees to receive money. Rather than incorporate these fees into our product prices (as many companies do) we think its fairer to people paying by other methods to reclaim this cost directly.
